VING is not a safe Scandinavian tour operator
- even though they really want their customers to believe it. Against
the worlds biggest travel and leisure operator you don't
have a chance if something goes wrong. Here is a organizational chart
where you will find VING circled out....

We can let VING, or more correctly, Scandinavian Leisure
Group SLG
speak for themselves in a press release.......
|
"VING
is the leading tour operator in Scandinavia. VING sell their tours
through 63 own shops in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Poland. Sales
are also made through internet, www.ving.se VING is owned by SLG
-Scandinavian Leisure Group. The company group had 1996/97 a turnover
of 8 billion SEK and 2.400 employees. SLG is owned by British Airtours
plc. Over 6 million travelers make Airtours the biggest tour operator
in the world. SLG contributed 1.8 million of these.

So, this means that VING, which is own by Scandinavian Leisure
Group,
is in turn wholly owned by... AIRTOURS plc. Lets have a look at their
organisational chart.

So, six million travelers with Airtours, and 1.8 million
of those from SLG.
SLG's turnover is 8 billion SEK - what does the CEO of VING say about
this
arrangement
in a news item in a Swedish daily? Remember Scandinavian Leisure
Group pays his salary.

"Our shareholders set very high demands
on us. This results in a difficult but stimulating balance between
good quality product to a low price and satisfied shareholders. Without
bragging I would like to humbly say that VING has succeeded in this."

Well, there I have something of a different opinion.
If you take care of those you have put in wheelchair there is obviously
less money left for the shareholders. And if those who you have
hurt for life can't take legal action against you, then the stimulating
balance is not that difficult.
But I do think that that's not really the problem
here. I think that these pages show that
VING does not have any control or supervision of their subcontractors.
Which is very strange, because that's
what they promise....
